Vermiculite

Processing method: Vermiculite is available both raw and expanded in various grain sizes
Grades: Raw vermiculite is heated to approx. 1000°C, which causes the material to expand to several times its original volume
Properties: expanded (also called exfoliated) vermiculite has many positive properties, such as:
- high absorbency (also suitable for binding dangerous materials)
- non-flammable
- heat-resistant up to approx. 1300°C
- insulating
- low hardness
- light-weight
- sterile
- resistant to parasites
